Silchester Apple Juice is back! Spread the Word

Silchester Apple Juice

Village Market Facebook LogoTo all of our wonderful customers with their own apple trees, or indeed whose families have apple trees, we are told that the apple season is running circa two weeks late due to the cold March and limited sunshine though there has been no problem with moisture!! Would love to hear how your own crop is faring after the bumper year last year.

Richard Paget from My Apple Juice, who kindly pressed and bottled local Silchester apples last year for our own Silchester Apple Juice brand will be coming to Silchester Village Market on Saturday 1st October and Saturday 5th November. He will be demonstrating how apples are pressed to make delicious home grown apple juice. Great fun to watch, even better if they are your own apples.

If you are going to have more apples than you can make pies or crumbles with then this could be a great opportunity to use them to avoid them going to waste in your gardens or landfill.

My Apple Juice can take your surplus apples, press, pasteurise and bottle the juice under your own ‘family’ brand. Great gift ideas especially for Christmas presents for friends and family. You pay a fee for this service per bottle.

If you do not want to use your apples for your own purpose then the Market would be pleased to receive them and we will pay for the processing and sell the apple juice under the Silchester Apple Juice brand with all proceeds from the sale going to charity.

Apple Juice WideApples can also be turned into mulled apple juice, ideal for Bonfire night or other autumnal gatherings. Apple donations can also be used to provide Silchester Association with their own Mulled Apple Juice for our fireworks display which will aid funds raised that evening.

So if you would like to put your apple crop to good use then please bear this in mind. It will be a great community activity and I am sure the children will be delighted to see how the fruit from their trees is turned into tasty apple juice.

If your apples are available sooner than October then please contact me and I can arrange deliveries to My Apple Juice as they are close to where I work.

If you would like to deliver your apples directly to My Apple Juice. They can be found at Warren Farm, Savernake Marlborough, Wiltshire SN8 3BQ. Richard can be contacted on 01672 870194 or email: richard@pagets.org.uk  Richard would be able to return your bottled juice at either the October or November Markets.

Please spread the word to your friends and families. This is a great way to use home grown produce and there was such a great buzz about it last year.
