Market Update: Join us at the Market Cafe in September

Join us at the Market Cafe in September

Village Market Facebook LogoWe look forward to seeing many of you again on Saturday 3rd September. We continue to receive such lovely feedback about the Market Café, run now for us by Suzi & Jane, so we hope you will also have time to enjoy a chat and meet up with your friends, family and neighbours.

For nice things to eat and drink, John will have another table burdened with home grown seasonal produce from his allotment; home-made preserves, chutneys, jellies, curds and marmalades by Felicity and Olga; local free range eggs from Bloomfield Hatch Farm; fresh Arabica coffee by The Coffee House; Wyatts will be there with meat for your roast; barbeque and/or your Sunday breakfast! Artisan bread, biscuits and cake from Great Little Bakery (very positive feedback on the millionaire shortbread last month!); Cakes by Suzi & Jane; fresh and local cheeses from The Cheese Agent; Shirley from Cherry Me with her wholesome dried fruit snacks; flavour infused rock salt from the Rockin’ Good Salt Co; and Old Forge Larder whose locally produced range of oils were quickly snapped up. My favourite was the garlic infused oil, handy for so many dishes.

Old Forge Larder

Old Forge Larder has a great range of oils.

Other stalls include traditional sweets by Sheridan Sweets; hand- made chocolates and cards by Tilly’s Treats and TJ Designs respectively; Jenny Jowatt’s exquisite botanical cards; Jewellery by Denise; Fabric textiles by Siobhan and a NEW stall, Black Cat Designs, will be joining us to showcase their pet wear (collars; leads, bandana etc.)

Outside will be Caryn from J.E.N.N.I. who was delighted that at the August Market she sold out of her ‘take away’ meals for health conscious customers or those with special dietary needs. Fresh fish and fishcakes from Devon fishcakes (David’s biggest seller was fresh crab in August); Annette from Husse with pet food, treats and accessories; and Felicity and Olga will have lots of colourful plants to fill those autumn borders. NEW stall also by Antonia Durrrant with some knitted pouffes!

(Details correct at the time of writing as we usually have a few more wanting to come!)

Thanks once again to all who support the Market. We hope you are enjoying the wider range of products which is only possible because of your patronage. If any local groups would like to have a stall for charity or fund raising purposes please drop us a line. We’d be happy to accommodate you.
